Looking for shops that seem to give the best price on the tear down and adjustment. Price isn't my only concern I want it to be a quality job any reviews of dealers are appreciated!

I have not had my 12k service yet, but here is my history with Buckeye HD (old F&S) in Dayton. I haven't had major problems with them, but it seems they don't pay attention to detail (with Buells anyway):

Purchased my 2008 1125R new from them in 2009
- When I took it home from the dealer it had heat problems, so I checked the coolant... It was empty.
- clutch weep in 2011 - they fixed under warranty... no issues

Purchased the wife's 2009 Buell Blast new in 2009
- Took the bike home from the dealer & there was a clanking noise in the engine, so I checked the oil - 1 qt low.
- 3 months later... I go into the garage and the bike is sitting in a puddle of gas. Took it into the dealer and they tell me the float was stuck (which means they probably put it on wrong to begin with). They fixed it under warranty, but didn't clean up the bike - and left obvious white gasoline residue stains running down the bike.

I have not done my 12K service yet but will be this winter in my garage. I purchased my bike at Western Reserve HD in Mentor and had a few items fixed under warranty. This is definitely a Buell friendly HD shop.

I've heard good stuff about Western Reserve. I've seen some people post that they got job done for less than $500 that is what I'm looking for!

Do a search for DucRX.

He is an independent mechanic in Ohio that specializes in Ducatis, but he does others including Buell 1125s. He has done many valve checks on sport twins.

He did my 1125 valve check last year. The service, price, and most importantly the quality of work was excellent. Everything was done correctly and torqued to spec : )

the valve check isn't really that hard of a service. doesn't require that much tool $$ and we have a great support group here. i would encourage anyone to DIY on this. there have been more than a few threads with pics for the how to.

I Service my vehicles and my KTM I just dont want to screw up my baby. That being said I've debated waiting til the cold months to do it. I have all the tools and space just need a service manual! I just think I would rather pay $400.00 and have guaranteed quality work! On the other hand I can think of some nice accessories for 4-500 bucks!

yeah well guaranteed quality work is a bit of a misnomer. at the same time i get you as honestly i was considering paying to have it done. 4-500 buys 1-2 sets of tires.... or many other farkles etc.

It really isn't that hard of a job, just time consuming. I rotated mine to do the check, and got it done in a 2 day weekend working at a leisurely pace.

Just take your time when dropping the motor down, and watch the wiring! And triple check your valve cover gaskets when putting the covers on, I got a small rubber nub off the wiring harness stuck in one of mine, and it spewed oil all over (a good 1/2 quart within a 10 mile test ride... what a mess). Luckily, it was the rear cover and not the front, and I was able to loosen it enough to fix the issue without rotating the motor again.
