If it's the belt "creaking" it might just be rubber up in the works. I get this a lot on tracks where the tires cold tear or you get a lot of "boogers" off the edge of the tire.

The rubber gets caught by the belt and while hot rubbed into the pulley teeth. You have to get in there and scrape it out with a small, soft screwdriver or something that won't gouge the pulley. PITA for sure.

it heard a ticking noise relative to speed, fast or slow, when i rolled the bike backwards as the damaged belt reached the pinion, there was resistance, outside edge of belt looks fine no cracks, but inside there's an inch and half section that's separated. only 6k seems young to me?

If you catch debris in it they don't last 100 mi.

Mine just went at 8,500 miles, when I went to fit the new one I found the original belt had been eating through the metal of the lower belt cover between the belt and the exhaust, might want to check yours is not the same, do not know if mine came like this or got bent during some of the warranty work. Belt cost me £180.00($290.00) over here in the UK.

Same here, I found a small crack across the valley of a tooth and the belt was separating internally.

Stimbrel, did you check with American Sport Bike?

I know this is an old thread and this may be a noob question, but are the belts used on this bike not the same as what H-D uses on there other bikes. I know guys with H-D's that still have there original belts on bikes that are 10+ years old with 30,xxx+ miles. Or is this a byproduct of the high HP/torque on a racing bike?
