Author Message   Jasbiz66 Posted on Tuesday, September 04, 2012 - 06:53 pm:        Ok so I got her all back together and she isn't wanting to charge. Just got a rewound stator back and put it all back together. WTF??? When I would put the booster pack on it, it would say theft alarm, then if I clicked the power on the booster back 2 notches the gauge would light up but not have enough power to start. put the truck on it to jump start it and it started just fine. let it run for a while while still having the jumper cables on and did ok until I took the cables off then went into system voltage. Got the truck with cables sitting running for about 15 minutes now, gonna try it by itself after that then take the brand new battery in to get checked to see if something is wrong with it. I HAVEN'T RODE SINCE JUNE AND IT IS KILLING ME....   Sparky Posted on Wednesday, September 05, 2012 - 03:59 am:        Do you have the Upgrade Harness & Relay installed? If so, the relay could be bad and not allowing proper charging. Regardless, the first thing I would do is a Stator AC voltage test to see if it produces approx 35 to 45 VAC at 3000 rpms with the Stator disconnected from the Voltage Regulator (VR). If Stator AC test fails, you've likely found the problem.   Jasbiz66 Posted on Wednesday, September 05, 2012 - 07:27 pm:        Yeah I have the harness and relay installed. For some reason the lights aren't coming on now. I put a good battery in it and it will fire up but it keeps going to system voltage. The only lights that are coming on up front are the two on the very outside, the little ones, not the normal head lights. What is up with that? I had the wires marked when I took the stator off, could they have wired them wrong so when I put the wires back in where they originally were that they are not right? how do I know which wire is which?   Yugi Posted on Wednesday, September 05, 2012 - 08:24 pm:        Looks like you need to replace the VR. Fired it up and it went to high 13's, ran for a little bit and then the system voltage came on and it spiked up to high 17's. So yeah i'm assuming it is the voltage regulator. Right?
