My own completely unfounded and unresearched SWAG (scientific wild assed guess)?

Polaris....Polaris builds the engines, EBR's are sold out of Victory dealerships, with Polaris haveing no controlling interest.

But that doesn't fit with the whole Hero thing....

Elves Rule sounds like...but is not an anagram for, Evinrude.....

That's about the right time frame for the "famed" ZR-1.

If Mercury is the said engine manufacture, I'd be very pleased. Now for the next question; will Erik step out and do a single or maybe a parallel twin for an adventure type bike?

to sirwadsalot.. Rotax did not buy back the rights to the 1125r engine from h/d.. H/d actually spent 125 million dollars to get out of the contract with rotax since they were commited to several year agreement and joint R and D cost

I have heard a rumour that Hurley Pugh (a once renowned maufacturer of quality motorcycles) have reopened their factory to build V twin motors for an undisclosed American manufacturer.

Hurley-Pugh? They haven't built a motorcycle in what, 75 years?
Sounds like Anglo-wishful-thinking to me....

Court and his compadres are ruthless! All in good humor of course! I can appreciate their stance on "sworn to secrecy". The end result will hopefully do something great for the US, in many respects.

That may be so Mr Garner, but H-P have not stood still during that time. They have developed a process to manufacture Leather Thrunge grommets to incredibly tight tolerances and have perfected their 'Spark-O-Matic' magnetos to be the most reliable ignition system on the Planet. They have incorporated total loss oiling to reduce engine temperatures and tested side valve operation to centralise mass.
It's all been top secret until recently, that's why they've not updated the Website. Just you wait and see

That is exactly what I was told, except that in return for HD paying up they wanted all the helicon tooling...then destroyed it!

Good news.

Precisely NONE of the foregoing is remotely accurate.

Walk the moto-midway, enjoy the entertainment, win a stuffed bear for the girl but please don't espouse any of this as anything beyond entertainment.

I can share one thing with you.

Those who have enjoyed prior work from the hands of E2 (Erik & Elves) will be duly proud.

I'm excited. These folks have never been happier, more creative, more motivated or more focused.

Times are good.

It has been said that EBR wants to run in WSB. I sense a MAJOR platform change. The question is, is it an evolution or a replacement? How many options?

Ecoboost 1000? ; ) ZL1000RR?

Are you suggesting that EBR will toss the v-twin and go with an IL4? Do you think the Helcion is not capable of competing like the Ducati does in WSBK? If this is what you are saying please explain why you think this.

"I sense a MAJOR platform change"

My speculation is that is probably the long term goal - short term it's been stated that the 1190 base platform is destined for WSB. Wouldn't surprise me though if they run the same play book that they did in AMA... Run a season or two with the goal to collect data and lessons learned and then incorporate them into a killer new ground up platform.

Can you imagine what you would have to do to get a square 4 two stroke past the EPA now? Frankenbike!

Let us not forget the very beginning of Buell Motorcycles---2-Strokes. Personally, I grew up on ring-a-dings and would love to see them again. No comparison of power-to-weight versus 4-Strokes...

It would REALLY take some out of the box thinking to put a 2 stroke street bike on American roads....Damn, now I have to call my Canadian buddy ad beg him to bring his Gamma down in the spring...I haven't utterly terrified myself in a while : ).

I love the smell of bean oil in the morning...2-strokes have been tested that have lower emissions than 4-strokes. Evinrude builds V-4 watercooled 2-strokes "E-TEC". Check this info from their website:
*Three stars from the toughest emission standard in the world – the California Air Resources Board. Plus, we’re the only outboard to win the EPA Clean Air Excellence Award. No other brand of outboards produces fewer reportable emissions that the Evinrude E-TEC family of engines.
*No Maintenance for 3 Years/300 Hours.
*195 fewer parts than a four-stroke. No valves, belts, camshafts or pulleys to adjust or replace. No telling how much that could cost.
*No oil changes, A four-stroke gets one every six months or 100 hours.
*3-year, 300-hour spark plugs.
*Instant throttle response
*High torque, high horsepower
*Less weight, more power."
Yes, this is a boat motor, but all this can be applied to a long lasting motorcycle.
