Well, fuel pump gave out on one of the 08's. Slowly got worse and worse, but I lucked out, for just one time: it happened with less than three weeks of warranty left. Usually I am cursed and it works just the other way.

The rest of the story is they got the fuel pump in in 3 days, replaced it. I guess the pump slowly decreased overall and not just sporadically because this is a whole different bike. I hadn't noticed the gradual loss of power. Props to HOH in Anchorage for fast turnaround.

mine just went out two nights ago. was riding to the bar to grab a drink and go two-stepping, but the bike died literally 2 blocks from the bar! Good thing a cab only cost $40 to get back home to grab the truck and a ramp.

did you replace it yourself?

No, they did it under warranty. That was the lucky part. Usually things break the day after warranty runs out, at least for me.

Yep, these guys try real hard to be helpful. I don't know how they did that though unless the part was close to us or close to a fed ex hub or something.

I noticed whenever I would have something shipped to me in Anchorage, it would ALWAYS come in via 2-day shipping. Probably more to do with the fact that there's no possible 'ground' shipping method unless you take a detour through Canada, or load the ferry down with FedEx / UPS trucks.

That's not to say that House of Harley isn't a good dealership, just that it seems 'norm' for two-day shipping and three-day turnaround. The same thing happened when I needed repair work done on my car... Parts were always in two days later, and fixed on the third day.
