It seems like the tach needle slipping is not uncommon in the 09 1125's. Hd has replaced my cluster once for unknown reasons.

Mine did the same on my 08 but that's because Harley decided to shotgun parts at my bike when I had a bad speed sensor. So now I have an 09 Cluster on my 08.

So now mine does the same. From what I've read the best way is to just get a new one.

Some say they have taken theirs apart and fix it.

For now I'm leaving mine how it is and will fix it when the season ends here in Chicago.

I took mine apart. A few screws, open the back up and then quiet a bit of patience to help it out. it is not clipped in once the back is removed. I used a drop of jb weld to reattach

there is a thread somewhere

Thanks for the link. I do have the aftermarket warranty, so there should not be more than a 50$ replacement fee. It just seems to be a common problem. Why does the tach needle slip? Anyone
