Looks like I'm going bearing shopping tomorrow.

Can somebody please confirm the right bearing size for the rear wheel.

Any difference in quality between Koyo and SKF?

Has anyone "upgraded" their rear bearings? Ceramic?

Im due for tires and think after 20,000 miles Ill replace the bearings as well

Be very careful about buying 'SKF' bearings off the Internet. In the UK, there are some very good looking copies and the packaging is identical, however, the quality is nowhere near as good as the genuine ones.

Thanks, bought FAG at $20 each.

They had KBC for about $11 but I just kept thinking of the sudden surprise of bearing failure.

Funny thing, the original bearings your 03 had were FAGs and they were recalled.

My first hand experience says bearing failure is not an issue with the bearing manufacturer, I'm pretty sure I've had all the major brands fail at one point or another.
