Hi everyone.

Just wanted to post up an alternative for anyone who is suffering from serious clutch weep while they are waiting to order their replacement parts.

My bike started squirting clutch fluid out of the weep hole the first day I bought it as I was riding it home. I ordered the EBR unit, but it wasn't going to arrive for a little over a week, so I took it apart thinking that the only way it could leak like that is if the cylinder itself was scored. Pressed out the cylinder and took it to work, sure enough, lots of marks in it. So I took a short length of emery cloth and sanded the whole inside of the cylinder until the marks were completely gone. The seal on the piston is a lip type seal which I felt would take up the amount I had sanded away. THOROUGHLY cleaned the cylinder sleeve, reinstalled it, lubed all components with Dot 4, and bled the clutch assembly. I've now been riding the bike for 3 weeks with this "fix" with the EBR unit on the shelf because I haven't had time to put it in. No leaks at all.

Again, in no way am I saying this should be a permanent fix, but should you find yourself in a bind where you are unable to ride your bike because of waiting on parts it can be an effective temporary solution.

thanks
Sky

I think just having the backup kit on the shelf assures you of leak-free existence - kind of a reverse Murphy's Law....

Props too, for developing a solution, rather that a complaint...... This is full of WIN!
