Anyone heading out to the Sturgis Rally this year? I'm heading out tomorrow with my dad (2009 Harley Fat Bob) and my wife (2009 Yamaha FZ6R). There was supposed to be about 4 more guys going, but all backed out. Anyone else going out there this year? This is my first year so any tips on any good rides/attractions I need to check out it would be greatly appreciated.

Try 14A south out of Spearfish and stop at Cheyanne Crossing! The Crossing has great food and the ride is excellent!

We r coming out of Michigan so we have about 20 hours of driving ahead of us. Trailering the bikes in my dad's fifth wheel toy hauler. We are camping at eagles landing. I don't plan on hanging out in Sturgis too any days. I mainly want to check out the sites of the area like mount Rushmore and so on.

be sure to do the Spearfish canyon ride it is great and ride over to Devils Tower in Wyo it is truly neat. There are several really neat roads to ride in the hills there. Another is Vanocker road much less traffic than hwy 385. Just ride safe be aware of the novice traffic some of these people only ride once a year and this is it, have a good time.

Lots of people bash on this, and other rallys, but I tell you - Sturgis is great! So much motorcycle stuff going on (drag races, hill climbs etc), and just an amazing part of our country. Several places to check out, the tourist stuff, but beyong that I really do feel its one of the more beautiful places I've ever been. Been twice, love it, looking forward to going back
