For those of you that have removed the passenger foot peg support, where did you reroute the fuel vent tube that runs down the left side of that support?

I put the front bolt back in and left about 1/4" between the bolt head and the tail section frame.

I sectioned the hose so it pointed "out" (away from centerline), and zip tied it to the bolt between the frame and the bolt head. You can almost make it out in the photo below, I circled it in blue. I also have my battery tender harness attached the same way, to the rear bolt.

Make sure you have it stick "out" far enough so that if it drips, it doesn't drip on the swingarm while the bike is on the sidestand.

Buy some heat shrink tubing. Find the piece you cut off when you removed the peg. Splice on a section using the heat shrink to hold it.

I just let the tube fall through the subframe and along the outside of the swingarm. It's long enough to extend to the bottom of the swingarm. It's rigid so it doesn't really move. Not pretty, but I don't worry about it.

Interesting, eyeballing it I figured it would drip on the swingarm if truncated to the point of the bolt.

Install this and never have to worry about the vent again.

Are the canisters only installed on California bikes? The parts manuals says only some of the tubes are California specific, but the rest of the system is on all bikes? To my knowledge the canister was not removed from this bike if it was present to begin with.

Next question, buy the ebay one ($27 after shipping) or new from Surdyke for $30? Does that eBay listing include tubing that is not included in the straight canister part number 27042-84A?

Yep bought the canister for mine after I routed my line to the back and got tired of fuel all over my garage floor. Best thing to do, suck it up and buy a california emission part, tucks in right under the front seat

i reroute the vent to the right riders footpeg,
i disconnect the original hose and put in a smaller diameter of a gas ready plastic hose.

i rerouted them in the near of the spring, there is a small plastic part which protects the cables from fallen outside, behind this plastic part i fixed it and behind the riders footpeg i fixed it with a zip tie..
