Has anyone removed the passenger footpeg assembly and used the bolt holes in the frame to install paniers - perhaps paniers of their own creation?

I've got a setup like that on the drawing board ... sort of. My plan is to continue to use the bracket that holds the footpeg, and only remove the footpeg itself, replacing it with a custom piece to provide a forward attachment point for a set of bags.

I tried this with a set of eBay Aprilia bags. Used a section of 1x1 but ran those on the inside of the bags as the whole contraption got a litte WIDE. Good luck!
