THIS RELAY HAS NO DIODE so it may damage your ECM.

Does it just sit in your pocket, or is it attached to the bike somehow? If so, what does it do?

The only problem is the relay is rated for dc voltage at the rated amps. You still may get a short life out of the relay because of high wear on the contacts

I retract my recommendation. This relay apparently has no diode (excepting the LED).
