I'm putting my 1125 back in street shape and would like to us the Airtech full side panels with belly pan. But I want to leave the stock pod covers off. Does any one know if I will run into overheating problems?   | ||

Based on a few of the race bikes I've seen no it shouldn't be an issue as long as you keep the fans for street riding. | ||

I'd take a look at how air flow will be affected without the duct section of the pods (the flat black part on the front of the pod). But I'd also agree with Boog - shouldn't be a problem if you keep the fans. | ||

you can remove the front trims from the pods and just refit them.It makes it a lot tidier. But using the pods keeps everything covered up. I'm just working on a trim panel to fill in the top edge of the pod area | ||

Thanks for the comments. I agree with the fan idea. They need to be kept for street. After posting I remembered what Robrod did with his new style flexiglass ram air panels where he sealed the mouth of the new scoop with the radiators so that air could not escape. I think I will try to do the same thing with these Airtech panels to direct air into the radiator rather than around it. Suddenly I have too many projects, but I will get to this as soon as I get all the race parts stripped off, advertised and hopefully sold. | ||

I would leave the pod covers on - they're designed to take the impact in the event of an accident, I doubt if the fiberglass fairing would hold up so well ... | ||

The fiberglass lowers hold up better than you might think - lowside at about 80 mph:  The CF case covers come in handy, too. (Message edited by Stirz007 on April 25, 2012) |
