Not sure but my previous thread seems to be locked....one more question...and I hope I have all the info this time so I can get a more accurate answer....the dealer is replacing stator, voltage regulator and stator relay under warranty which is good. Their concern however is. because I have an EBR ecm fitted, it may not have the ability to shut down one phase to reduce heat levels as per the oem ecm. I have emailed EBR and asked but does anyone know if this is the case? If it doesnt, then it looks like the dealer will not fit the parts......any words of guidance would be appreciated.....

Hailwood, have a look at this thread, it may help. Seems it should be OK with the EBR ECM.

Charging harness relay-how it really works

Curve-carver says:
"This goes for the current flash of the stock ECM and the EBR ECM."

I'm interested in your outcome.

Hailwood, the general words of wisdom that have been mentioned here regarding bringing one's bike to the dealer for warranty work involve putting the original parts back on. One can always reinstall their custom parts when the bike comes home again.

This is important because if they determine that those parts need to be replaced, those parts go back to the Factory and it gets stock replacement parts. That can suck if one has custom parts like an EBR rotor or ECM and the dealer changes them or refuses to do the work, as you found out.

What Sparky said. The dealer needs to see a virgin bike. This is the only thing they know. before you take her in put your old ECM/muffler back on.

Hailwood,

The EBR ECMs work with the charging harness.

Some dealers don't care about aftermarket parts, some do.
