Looks like someone threw an omelet (or a pancake) on your stator...

if you could get it to transfer heat- paint it black - you'd sell 5000 of them!

Wouldn't cutting it in half and doubling the thickness of the bottom be better? I doubt you would ever damage the upper portion of the cover. And yes.. paint it.

"what holds it on?"

I made an aluminum slider, the outside is larger than inside... 1 millimeter
the pieces fit together with pressure..
I did a drawing

as my cover was already damaged
for safety I used a bit of high temperature silicone

now got better, not much,
I cut in half and coated with carbon fiber

Are you going to test it to make sure it stays on or do you see this as purely cosmetic?

I'd be inclined to epoxy it to the aluminum slider. Stock aluminum clutch side slider seem to stay in place during low sides so I can't see why the stator side would act much differently. Only exception that I can think of is if the who assembly spun counter clockwise during a crash so that the carbon bit was @ 12:00 instead of 6:00. Ribs in the stator cover should help prevent that rotation though. Or... if there is an excessive air gap between the AL cover and the carbon cover then a low side might tend to lever the whole slider assembly out of it's bore.

For an every day street rider though this might be "good enough".

Nice work!

I tried to hit with a rubber hammer!

believe,
I hit strong in all directions!
stayed in place

i'll only be sure in a lowside

I thought about screw the cover on the slider...what do you think?
