Is it the new ebr stator kit? If not, there's another $1000 plus labor you'll be spending. Otherwise, not too bad an asking price. It is January so that's to your advantage market wise.

If the guy gets a new motor put into the bike, why does he decide to sell it after putting 400 miles on the new motor?

Part of the appeal of buying a bike with a new motor is having the ability to supervise the break-in. He isn't selling that.

I sold a car in 1972 after a new factory warranty motor went in. I was tired of the maintenance issues and wanted to move in another direction. The car a 1969 Z/28 Camaro was a lot like the 1125 no low end but once she goes over 4000 rpm hang on!

Two white 1125R's with low miles. wow!

That's a lot of bike for the price. I paid a little more than that for my CR last spring.

Why did he have to replace the motor? I wouldn't worry about the stator. If you leave in the wiring harness, the stator will be okay. If you have charging issues check the relay and voltage regulator.

good luck
