Just wondering if anyone has a Saddlemen Tech seat for their 1125r. The tech with the memory foam for those who might not know. I want something COMFORTABLE to ride long rides with. The Stocker is killing me. Debating SADDLEMEN TECH or sending my stock to LOREN at BALDWIN SADDLES. | ||

Its not memory foam but I got my seat from Seat Concepts for $150. Its ten times more comfortable than the stocker and was more in my price range. I have had it for over a year now and probably put about 7000 miles or so on it without issue. Al recommended the Sport for me, and it's been fantastic 9 hours in the saddle the other day, w/only a break for lunch | ||

I had the seat concepts and I didn't think it was very comfortable at all so I bought the saddlemen tech seat from al. Night and day difference, the memory foam is awesome. Only had it about a month and the cover started separating at the front seam though. Contacted al and he gave me a contact at saddlemen and they are repairing it free of charge right now. As far as I know i'm the only one that has had this problem and the customer service has been very good so I can't really complain. | ||

Bextreme, Let me know how Saddleman takes care of you. My Tech Seat definitely has a stitch that is showing strain. I am curious to see how they repair and if it appears tougher than the current setup. ac | ||

I have one, I like it for the most part. Def more comfortable then stock, or the touring Buell seat. You have to get used to the little bit of grab on you pants sliding from side to side. Its not horrible but does feel different. Scott | ||

No issues with the suede sport. Little more friction, I tend to lift to take it easy on it. Not sure if I need to, but I do. | ||

still waiting for them to finish repairing the stitch. Called last week and they said it should be done by last friday but I still haven't heard anything back. Gonna call them again tomorrow and see... i'll post back here on the repair whenever i finally get it back | ||

I need a better seat for sure on my bike 1125R, however, I am a shorter guy and my bike needs to come down just a tiny bit more. Personally I don't want to mess around w the suspension on the bike. So I was told that my reducing my seat will most like do the trick. However, the current seat is NOT very comfortable AT ALL! So, debating if this Saddleman Tech is the answer but again I dont want a seat w more cushion so maybe I may have my current seat modified w memory foam or gel and see what happens. What do you guys think or has anyone had the issue that I am having? | ||

I think you will run into a problem with any aftermarket seat other than the Corbin. The stock seat has virtually NO padding and a poor shape. This keeps it "low" but also doesn't help support you. The Saddleman and Factory Custom seats have a flatter shape and more padding. The Saddleman Tech has the best padding and shape of them all. However, they are ALL higher. About 1". The Corbin uses a rock hard "saddle" approach. They try to make you comfy with just the shape. Some like it, some hate it. I don't know how short you are, but I have a 30" (jeans, really 29") inseam. I had NO trouble with the Saddleman Tech seat on my bike. I could almost flat-foot both sides, even though this is completely unnecessary to ride a motorcycle. After a while, you just realize you get comfortable with one foot on the ground on any bike...the bike only has one kickstand... I have the tech seat...love it...so much more comfortable than stock..have used it on a few rides that would have had me squirming and moving on stock but no issues at all with the tech seat... | ||

got my repaired saddleman tech seat back a couple weeks ago... they repaired the front stitching and it looks like they reinforced the heck out of it. No more signs of strain and it looks just like new... definitely way more comfortable than stock or the seat concepts! | ||

Chgofirefighter ~ An older person like myself may experience discomfort sooner than an athletic younger person. Younger people are more likely to go on longer rides. At some point you will wish you had the more than the stock seat. Saddleman's 'channel' is designed to keep the blood supply going to your penis from being damaged. At one time this was very well explained on Saddlemen's site. Lawyers must have gotten to it. On a similar note many years ago I read that dirt bike riders were more likely to suffer from ED due to that part of their body getting slammed into their seats so much. http://www.saddlemen.com/index.php/en/products/sad dlegel-seats I have seen Ducati's with lowered suspensions. The first time was at GP suspension. As I circled around, it looked so sleek. I just couldn't figure it out what made it look so sleek, they lowered it. P.S. I like my sport seat. Looks great and the channel actually really relieves the pressure on the under side. I'm about 170 lbs and 5' 9". The channel also creates a little vacuum and keeps you cooler. It's noticeable in FL anyway. It is grippy and I would probably switch back to the stocker for a track day. |
