my 09R an I had someone make left in front of us an had the misfortune of inpacted the side of a minivan with famous words didn't see him. in Nov 14 days hospital stays 10 broken ribs still recovering will post picts of the R just turned 9000 mi, just had stator replaced ,was wearing full gear .

Oh man, I am so sorry to hear that, but glad to hear that you made it out alive. Good thing that you were wearing gear.

Please don't tell me that the driver of the minivan was a mom with kids in the car -- I hate to say it, but I've always thought that the minivan is the most dangerous cage of them all. It seems like they're all being driven by a soccer mom who is so distracted by the fighting kids in the back seat that she can't concentrate on her cell phone call/texting. Of course she didn't see you. She wasn't looking.

Sorry amigo, heal up. If I read your personal info correctly, you are "a man of a certain age" as am I and you must remember to give the healing some time.

I've painted my helmet (and V-Strom) in a large checker-pattern day-glo orange and florescent green and it seems to help with the large percentage of STUPID drivers out there, but I still don't count on them seeing me. Coulda been worse and all that...
