I was thinking some bar ends, and maybe the HID kit. I dont really know where to find the lights at but have heard good things about them.

Also looking for anything else for under $100.00 to just make the R a little different.

I do have the Jardean finder eliminator and double bubble dark smoke wind screen.

Thanks for any ideas.

DDM Tuning for the HID kit, Mine was $35 or $40. I'd recommend not going over 5k for the color though.

Axle sliders if you don't have them.

Trackday Gift Certificate? $100 would be a nice chunk of a trackday fee.

Heated grips from twisted throtle, I just installed them and they look pretty good. They are 78 bucks, easy to install just a little time consuming getting everything to look the part.

The symmetry between the front and rear foot pegs can be achieved with a little extra legroom at the same time.
The late model S1 pegs are 1 inch drop and they match the rear pegs perfectly. ~$40.00.

I second the windscreen, I got mine from Al was well. Looks great on the bike and really helps the wind buffeting.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

For the DDM lights I couldn't find the Buell tab on the site dose anyone have a direct link to what I need to get? Also do they come as a kit or do you by each separate, and do you only use them for low beams, high or both.

I have an 08 R has anyone had trouble running these as in draining the battery down? Or are they pretty easy on the battery

Thanks Russell

I got the ZG Corsa clear screen from Al and then took it to a auto window tint shop where the guy painted the inside a translucent blue to match the blue wheels. Looks quite a bit darker than the stock blue windscreen but complements the bike's overall appearance better, IMHO.

But I'm afraid it's now CHP ticket bait if I were to take it up on the Crest where there's at least one motor cop who has a hard-line extremist zero-tolerance attitude for ticketing motorcyclists for the most minor of infractions. The d**khead once ticketed a poor Firebolt rider with the stock blue DOT windscreen up there!

Those HID lights won't cause issues for your charging system. They draw nearly the same amount as stock bulbs once they are warmed up. It only takes 10 or 20 seconds to warm them up. Because they are slow to warm up and produce full brightness, some people are only putting them in the low beams. This allows them to flash their high beams on instantly. I did both high and low on my '08 1125R. The amount of light it puts out for the same amount of current draw is insane. You should be aware, though. Turning on both high and low at the same time at start up will blow the fuse unless you wire it through a relay straight off the battery. This fuse also kills the bike's starter. The HID's draw nearly double the current as they warm up. If you already have the lows warmed up, the fuse can handle warming up the highs at the same time. I rode through the Smokey Mountains to Deal's Gap at 11:00PM with no moon out last April. I was GLAD I could throw out so much light. The high beams stayed warm long enough to come right back on each time I turned them off for oncoming traffic. I highly recommend them for at least the low beams.

This is what I used, 5k color, low beam only, 35 watt.

Just got my Christmas gift today. While out shopping with wife she asked what I wanted and I'm like idk (cuz I want alot really) then she made a comment about a new camera so I said ok but the one I want is over there. So I took her to where the GoPro cameras were at. They had the Hero naked (camera and case) for 199 and the Hero2 outdoor edition for 299 she asked if I wanted it but I'm looking at the price and saying that's alot of money. But I'm still reading the box and seeing that it comes with most of the mounts and stuff. Then she grabs it out of my hand and puts it in the basket saying if your looking at it this long you want it. So we bought my Christmas present today.

Russ...if you're still looking at DDM's kits ...you'll need two single bulb kits for the "normal head lights"...leave the hi beams alone ( you'll never use them again)
BUT - you should read this thread ...Kinder has a Fix that I had to do in order to get the bulbs to always come on after I started the bike...it seems the starter draws some current away and leaves one of the bulbs "out"...his "cap trick" works well...
