It looks like EBR has a new battery for the 1125r. It's described as a LIGHTWEIGHT NANO-TECK© BATTERY. Does anyone have any experience with this battery? Is there a good reason, other than the weight savings and too much money in the bank, for installing it?

It isn't anything new, it is the battery that comes stock on the 1190RS and some of the 1125R based race bikes from EBR. It originally was going to be part of the Barracuda 2 if HD never killed off the company.

I don't have first hand experience with the EBR version yet (have use another brand), but Lithium batteries are great. The big benefit is the weight savings, and it is nice to gain some under seat luggage room.

From what I understand on EBR's website you also need to buy the lightweight under tray to use the nano battery. That thing is a chunk o'change also.

Chris I think you have that backwards, you need the battery if you get the racing under tray. It looks like it has a small rectangle where the battery will optimally be mounted.

The tray won't fit a traditional lead acid battery... in fact, it won't fit the 12-cell Shorai very well, either.

Stock tray is easily modifiable to fit aftermarket LiIon battery. Not sure what it takes for EBR model, but this is what I did or "another" brand...

Not the best pictures, because I didn't want to pull the battery to show the tray, but I think you get the idea. Sheet aluminum, cut and bent to fit both the battery and to bridge the existing battery supports in the tail section. Just riveted on, then I added some toolbox tray liner to pad the battery. Not the stock undertray, but the approach would work with stock tray. I would have liked a battery with a more substantial casing, but this has worked for a season without any signs of rub-through on the shrink wrap casing. (Cheezy case, I know, but it was available locally off the shelf at an affordable price) - and it saved about 9 lbs.
