Had the airbox off lately ?

One of the breather hoses has been known to rub on the throttles at the injectors end if it's not been routed correctly - I suppose that it is possible that it has "slipped" without assistance ...

No but took the air box off to have a look all seems ok.fould it hard to line up the square hose.

the throttle seems to move ok but lots of lag the it disapears.

YES the breather hose in the air box as sportster mann has said, take cover off air box and pull it up with some long nose pliers might sort it out

Cables adjusted correctly? Been lubed recently? Throttle sleeve binding in housing? Bar ends to close to throttle sleeve? In additon to the breather hoses these are all things that can/will cause the same problems

Have you denoided? My throttle was occasionally stiff and denoiding fixed it completely.

R or CR?

I ran into an issue on my R with the throttle cables. I had found that the cables were actually starting to kink at the point where they contact the fairing stay. I had to find a way to get a few more millimeters of slack to stop the issue from progressing.

CR

Thanks for all the comments.

I have oiled all the cables now and checked no breather pipes are causing the a problem and its seems a lot better. but it was the movement of the throttle and no engine response that worried me most as it made it a very jerky ride but that seems to come and go.

IS throttle stiffness a function of rider excitement?

; )

because when it's not electrically dead from the damn charging system defects, it's a VERY exciting motorcycle.
