We all know chains and sprockets wear together. How about drive belts? Barring anything special, what's the lifespan of our drive pulleys? |

Indefinatly, the belt won't wear the pulley within reason. I'd guess it's good for at least 200,000 miles. |

The sprockets should last the life of the bike. |

I know a guy who had to replace the front sprocket at around 70k miles - the compensator inside went bad. It didn't wear out the pulley as far as I know. As far as chain/sprocket wear vs belt/pulley wear: Chains & sprockets are both metal. Belts are rubber/fiber, and pulleys are metal. I don't think it's quite the same... ![: )](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/happy.gif) |

my s1 has 94k miles the rear pully was soft aluminum with no coating. At 70,000 miles I put an after market one on. the front still looks good. the 1125 pullys seem to be coated so they might last even longer. |
