Have ordered the RT3 and EBR Ecm to match. Should I get the K&N filter at the same time? is there any benfit over the stock filter? Can't wait to get all the goodies! Also my rear brake is stuffed from all the crap from the exhaust. I'm thinking of changing to the Brembro rear but not sure what I need. Any advise or parts list would be much appricated. Somewhere on here, Dean posted a dino of K&N vs stock. Unless you regularly drive at 9000 RPMs, there was no difference. Buy something else. | ||

I had talked to Michael at ErikBuellRacing about a K&N, he told me that it would be fine and the ECM would adjust. He also said that all their race bikes run the stock filter. | ||

I have and RT3 with the ECU and a K&N. Runs great. Never had the stock on in with the pipe and ECU so I cant compare them. | ||

I went back to the stock filter, there wasn't any difference that I could feel. From what I recall, the dyno chart only showed a tiny difference in power. I did it because on the last cleaning, I saw some fine dust or grit on the butterflies. My assumption was that the K&N doesn't filter as well as the stock one for small particles. | ||

For me, the strength of the K&N is the longevity of the filter itself. I realize that it may not help much for a street bike. I put K&N filters on all my vehicles so I can simply clean/oil them every maintenance cycle without buying a new filter every time. This practice has saved me a lot of money over the years. | ||

I bought my bike with a K&N. I would like to switch back to stock for the same reasons D_adams mentioned. I had the same experience using K&N on my offroad 4x4. I run an AEM dryflow on it now. I wish AEM made a dryflow filter for the 1125... | ||

I went w/a K&N on all my bikes. Not for any power gains, real or imaginary. Just so I wouldn't ever have to spend another dime on an air filter from HD again... YMMV, Nels | ||
