just installed a led battery gauge from cycle gear($36.00)thought i has a stator problem but it ended up being the battery.hooked it up to the accesory plug(spent 10 minutes trying to figure out why no power to plug,realized bike had to be running)   | ||

The ECM controls the aux port and will turn it off depending on the voltage, I recommend you wire that into the headlight or the ignition lines instead. | ||

Mine's been hooked to the Aux port since 2008. I call it a "feature" that it only comes on when the Aux ckt is active.  | ||

Mine's wired in to the main ignition feed (on the switched side) but is only a single 3-phase LED (Green is 12.7-13,2V, Amber is 12.0 to 12.7 and Red is time to get off the freeway!) | ||

+1 to what Froggy recommends - I have mine wire to the headlight feed - it reads low at idle (1 green) but advances to add'l green as the RPM rise...shows up as soon as I turn the key (engine doesn't need to be running)...helpful after gassin' up. really don't like the red showing up all the time - covered it up (the red LEDs)with electrical tape....this way if something "red" does come on (on the IC) I know I gotta do something NOW! |
