Glad i trailerd most the way here with Buellmojo. or i would be in a real pickle and not got a chance to ride at all here in asheville nc area. road 250 to oh friday night . Road 300 saterday and about 150 in i stop at a stop sign and get the dreaded batt light. So again i am 700 miles from home and have a stator failing. I put 2500 miles on it since the last hd one put in @ knoxxville. I am done bike is forsale or getting traded. I called customer care they re opend my case. They cannot auto 08 parts. said to call a dealer and have them call tech service. they where told that there not even sure 08 parts will work and all you can get is an 09 stator. My response is thats bs they see i live in michigan and my warrnety is out in febury. tired of worrying every time i start it (Message edited by R/T Performance on October 17, 2011) | ||

Do you like/love the bike otherwise? If so, it might be worth taking your bike to another dealer that will push harder for the 08 part, or call back to customer care tomorrow and change your voice. If all else fails, you can invest in the 08 part yourself. If 1200 bucks spent says you can go on long distance hauls without worry with a bike you love because it's different from what most are riding, would it be worth it? I paid 5 grand for a near new 2009 R (3600 miles) and to me it would be worth it, even if it wasn't under warranty. | ||

Are you using the harness? Whose ECM? How often do you maintain your oil level? Whose regulator? | ||

No harness f0 regulator ebr ecm oil all ways checked and synthetic every 4k miles. HD will not ok 08 parts f them | ||

You may lose more in the trade than it'd cost to pick up a complete 08 setup on eBay... I got mine for $600 all in... It's still in the box in the garage as my rewind is still holding up, butthen again I'mnot putting any miles on it since i got the chop... | ||

My biggest issue I don't think price are going up if I spend 600-1000 even on a used 08 stator n rotor. The bikes still only worth 5k in trade. I've got 18k in miles and now getting worried about. The dread bike starts and stalls or worse a valve drop. I think if i were in the small window of these issues I would of had them already but still a concern. Add that to me planning to move to Asheville within the next year. 100 miles to the nearest dealer to get parts just blows |
