The third leg of the stator which is controlled by the relay is only on at idle..so riding your bike at 5k is BS.

I've put around 250 miles on the new one I noticed it dropped down to 11.9 already and running it at 5 k for a 15 mile stretch it only got up to 13.1. I stopped ate dinner got back on and she was reading 14.1 any ideas to whats causing this?

If you're running the upgrade harness/relay, I believe the ECM is programmed to fully charge after startup and then switch off one leg soon after when the battery recovers some of the charge lost from cranking. There are other factors wrt the programming, number of fans running and other electrical loads, but it sounds like yours is pretty much normal.

Keep us posted with ongoing results. Good luck!

George,at what rpm range does the voltage drop below 12 .3. .... What else other than the stator was replaced?

At idle it did that. But a 15 miles ride at 5k+ rpm only got it back up to 13.1 and any stop would drop voltage fast!

I would check each leg of the stator, and check to see if the relay is working....there are posts on this site ,shows you how to do the checks

George disconnect the harness and see what your volts do?
If your volts jump up to 14.1 or so and stay there I would think there is an issue with the relay in the harness upgrade or ehgine temp issue I believe this is what tells the relay when to shut down out of the ecm if you follow?
