My stator/ Voltage Regulator whet out.
09 with 7k miles.
Got low battery lights for a few days.
Then the bike died at idle with system voltage error. Voltage on the freeway was at 13.2 at any rpms above 5k.
When the bike went down to idle the volts kept going down until the battery light came on, I saw it get as low as 11.7
Took it to the dealer today, hope fully they can fix it quick.

Did you have the harness installed? If so, at what mileage?

Harness was installed on the original engine, which want out at 3k miles. New 2010 engine has had the harness from day one with 7k miles.
95% freeway riding in so cal. Avg temp is in the 70's.
fmf apex and ebr ecm.

Which dealer in SoCal did U take it to?

how did your motor 'go out' at 3k mi?
was there a crack on the right side engine case below the water pump?

quick check with a multimeter at the connector before the harness would tell you if it was the stator or harness relay that went out. My harness relay went out after only about 1500 miles, 5000 total miles on the bike. Replaced it with a better quality bosch relay for 15 bucks and I was right back on the road. Unfortunately they have the same symptoms when they fail. Fortunately it is quick and easy to check and repair when it does.

It must be contagious I got batt light today too untill 4K then off the harness fix is in it for 6K miles I have near 8 on it.
