so, for those of us looking to "upgrade" our '09 stators, to the '08 stators, how much does it cost for the stator and rotor new from HD?

Only on eBay

I got my set on eBay for $300 shipped. You may have to call a few sellers that have 1125 parts. Check pinwallcycles for one or anyone selling an '08 engine.

Y0533.1AM MAGNETO FLYWHEEL

Y0442.1AMA STATOR

These are still good part #'s. For '08's.
Where did you get info that HD doesn't have them?

HD should have them for 7 years at least.

The EBR kit is a 2008 Stator/Rotor 1125, right?

Very cool. Of course for race use only. ; )

Anybody peek and see if that cover has revised oil flow?

Re revised oil flow, there is a slight difference to the inside face of the EB R rotor compared to an '09,
EB R Alternator Kit rotor:

'09 rotor. (ref Jcjohnson33 post 10,000+ miles on stator):

Could more exposed bolt/stud heads inside the rotor rather than a smooth surface be creating turbulence to help swirl any oil reaching the stator?

Stator looks the same, but rotor is a bit different than 08 setup.

looks to me like ebr figured out a different way to hold the rotor together and using the old bolt holes for cooling/oilflow

Yugi... the only difference I see between your photo and the EBR is in your photo the allen bolts are on the holes in the 2008 rotor, and the photo from EBR there are no allen bolts, the rest is the same.

There a lot of differences between the 2009 rotor and 2008

Sparky - on the EBR setup, are the holes left as holes? Or are they the mounting points like the older units?

Just wondering if those are the "oil jets" I've heard about being used on the 1190RS system...

Rat, I believe the holes are for bolts that hold the rotor to the sprag clutch housing as explained in the '09 service manual.

Strangely enough, the '09 service manual shows pictures of an '08 rotor assembly & 18 pole stator. The ony '09 rotor I've seen is in the pic I posted above from jcjohnson33.

Well, Ebr fix looks completely the same as 08 setup. Then, why do we need to buy the cover?
It's interesting how much it would cost without the cover.

Somehow I doubt they'd say "cover required"...if it wasn't.

Has EBR ever Fu$ked us?
If they say the cover is needed, then you can be sure its for a reason.

Anyone asked EBR if that rotor would work on an 08?

"To further reduce stator temperatures, we have added an orifice that directs cooling oil at the stator." -EBR

Maybe the orifice is incorporated in/with the cover? I've never had the stator cover off the really look at everything, but would that be possible?
