I got my new Race Tech springs!

they are a few inches shorter than OEM and I am looking for some advice on what length spacer to cut.

My plan is to just make up the difference so my spring + spacer length is the same as OEM . BUT if anyone has a suggestion or tip as to what I should do it is appreciated.

Also Race Tech sent me the wrong tubing for making my spacer... i dont think they have the correct ID in stock. Any suggestions for locating think wall steel or aluminum pipe? I was going to try some electrical conduit places

thanks,

todd

Indust. Metal Supply - on Ronson off Convoy may have thin wall tubing
http://www.industrialmetalsupply.com/Locations/San -Diego-Metal

the wall thickness may be expressed in sheetmetal gauge rather than a dimension:
(16 ga sheetmetal = appox .060" wall thickness...you could go as thin as 18 ga....if they have it)

...I have used Sched 40 PVC (plastic)sprinkler pipe for tuning when no pre load adjustmnet is available (like in old jap bikes)...PVC is easy to cut (hack saw/file/disc sander) and is cheap - once you have "the length"...duplicate it in metal...

Thanks for the reply. I talked to Brett (buell guy) over at moreland choppers and he set me straight. I am supposed to get rid of the nylonish bushings with the new springs..... Project is on hold now until next week.
