So I've done 10,000 miles-ish on me 1125 and I have had two stator's. Just had the 2nd one fitted last week. Word on the street is, here in the UK HD are only dishing out rewound ones now. Strange as it was nearly to the day last year when my last on went.
Also while riding home feeling the new life in my bike and thinking all is good in the world, my belt snapped about a mile from my house and had to push it until a kind chap stopped and we man handled the bike into his van.

If they sent it off to westcountrywindings then that's a good thing, they are extremely good and give you a 12 month warranty so the component is covered beyond the end of your HD warranty (should that be necessary).

I know - though I don't know where it was done will have to ask dealer B/B where they sent it.
Something deff needs to be done about this how much are the stators new ? anyone.

There was a new one advertised on here recently for $300 but that's an 09.

I managed to buy a 2008 Stator and Rotor for about $700 by the time I add postage and Customs Duty into the UK. It's in a box in the garage "just in case"

The complete 2008 setup (stator rotor) is $1300 or so if I recall correctly.

I know when I offered to pay for the rotor at the dealer when my 09 failed I was surprised to find it is over £600 in the UK just for the 08 rotor.. which is rediculous!

that it a rediculous price to pay, something does need to be done, rewinds can only go on for so long. Mine is a 09 on a 10 plate so far i ve had a fuel pump/1 clutch/2 stators and now a snapped belt oh and my local dealer damaged a injector while fitting the fuel pump. Lucky though as I have a mate who has the best knowledge on all things buell on my door step, and he has helped me out big time in the past.

Wow - that sucks, sounds like a "manufacturing" issue... or an installation one. Can you see if the dealer will tell you who did the work, I'd be interested... if it's not westcountrywindings see if you can persuade them to use them...

TBH, I think you'd have a pretty good case for "not fit for purpose" and demand an 08 setup or refund...

It was westcountywindings who did the rewind - the warrenty was done with BBear how ever the bike has now gone to Preston H/D as I live in M/cr and thats my nearest dealer now. I don't think it was a installation error.
I checked the returns on the harness and the stator was grounding somewhere ?.
Preston H/D having spoke to a chap there are wanting to put new parts in if they find anything wrong - though I explained that B/Bear where told by the mothership to issue a rewind stator to 1125's. So I ve just rang H/D and the chap said its down to the dealer as to what they fit.

Damn, that's doubly disappointing as they did my rewid.. ~2000 miles so far and holding up well..

Hope you get a good resolution with Preston.

Was that a new 09 (OEM) stator they fitted?

Take it back and reject it as "not fir for purpose" then start the legal process.. If nothing else that'll make them pay attention

Yes 09 stator and rota they said, Or they just had the bike sitting around for 3 weeks and done f-all with it. I didnt have to sign a job or warrenty sheet either, which I have always done.

Preston are picking it up on tomoz.

i tried that route before and while its good at venting anger - not really good for getting on with the police.

Anyways Preston are keeping the bike and I have now moved on.
