So I'm leaving tomorrow morning to ride to San Fransisco from San Diego, and then back Sunday. They only problem that I'm worried about with the bike is the lack of the right side mirror. The actual glass reflective part fell off a few weeks ago and has been on order since it fell off. It's a warranty part so I would don't want to buy one from Al at American Sport Bike even though he is literally right down the street (I'm lucky). So right now all I have is the stem with the blinker. I know I don't need a mirror but I feel a lot safer if I had one. Any other options you guys can think of? Should I ask Al if I can buy one from him and return the one that I get from HD when it to him comes in?

Just ride without it, to the best of my knowledge you only legally need 1 mirror in most states, if any at all. My XB has no mirrors or turn signals or footpegs due to crashing so much, and I've done nearly 10,000 miles on it like that including trips without issue.

See if Al has one lying around from a track bike? Of if someone on the boards here can help you if they are in the area?

You could also hit an auto parts store and grab a cheap mirror and just stick it in with double sided tape for a quick fix. ; )

if you have to have the exact shape and size try a glass and mirror shop...looks like there is a "mom and pop" shop in Leucadia...my local shop cuts out circles for free from "rems" left over from large mirror jobs...Kinder has the fastest fix..hit up walmart/autoparts store.

I've got one, the glass is good but the rest is shot. Free with your shipping =)

You could put a stick on wide angle rear view mirror thingy on in the meantime. They are probably at most auto parts / wal mart stores.
