What I bought the 1125R, I installed a K&N. I pressed the vent tube back into the airbox cover fully, or so I thought.

I've had problems when the bike is hot with it not wanting to start. It culminated the other day when I went to fill up and fuel spewed out the gas cap when I opened it.

This told me I had a vent issue, as in the tank isn't venting.

The simplest solution was to look at what I'd changed - the tube. So I lubed it up, and it popped much further into the groove than I could press it in dry.

Bike runs so much better now.

Simple, little stupid things.......

I learned a long time ago to always double check my work before I button everything up! Glad you got yours figured out.

the tricky part is that when dry, I really thought I had the tube in all the way.

I had redone the tube several times, and every time I put a lot of pressure to make sure it was seated.

Lube is the key..... (I used spit. : D)

A pair of needle nose pliers work well too.

I agree. Getting the tube properly lubed and inserted into the groove is on my list of things to do. Just gotta wait for permission. : D

I would avoid the needle nose in that application
