Just wanted to post a few pics of my stator that has as you guessed it 10,000+ miles on it.I just finished up my valve adj. And pulled the stator cover to have a look see. It's an '09 R. This is the second stator with harness upgrade everything else original, the bike has 17,400 miles.

Well shoot, no wonder it has heat issues. That rotor wouldn't allow any oil to get in or heat to escape. WTF HD? That is an easy fix.

That's a pretty good looking stator (for an 1125), uniform colouring is good.

The cracks wouldn't concerm me unduely unless they were in a position very close to the case (which they don't seem to be on yours).

Ya I was thinking of buying this off eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/09-Buell-1125-1125R -1125CR-STATOR-ROTOR-/130556518024?pt=Motorcycles_ Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e65c65e88#ht_4806wt_93 9

To do some testing maybe with some slots or holes or something.

Don't want to teach you to suck eggs or anything but do go careful to make sure it stays "balanded" - bearing in mind where it's bolted to the motor..

That's a pretty healthy looking stator.
I can't tell from the pics...
Has the silicone sealer gunk been removed from the stator cover? I'm talking about the glob of adhesive sealer that is usually present between the cover and that part of the wire where the torn insulation can be seen.

I think mine had a lot more. That grey stuff is had to get out. But yes I did scrap it all out, well the best I could anyways. There was some I think it was orange or something I am assuming was from the replacement for the original stator the dealer replaced. And I did put some rtv black back in to that spot, but just enough to hold the wires. My dremal is broke or I would have grinder down the ridges that is under the silicon.
