Ok, so last night I learned the hard way that my backpack was not rated for 120 miles an hour. My work shirt blew out and my pants got sucked into the final drive pulley. Well the pants jammed the sprocket and the belt snapped. So after a long push to a nearby friends house and then 2 hours this morning of hacking at the pants with a razor blade, the pulley is free. Unfortunately I removed the bolt holding on the pulley, which was easy because the sprocket was locked with my pants. Now I am needing to reinstall the bolt and I am wondering if anyone has done this before without the sprocket locking tool that the service manual calls for. My local harley shop isn't an authorized buell dealer so I highly doubt they would have the tool.

Thanks
Mike

Wouldnt having the bike in gear do the trick? I havent had to do this yet on my 1125 but leaving it in gear worked for me on my XB.

Your dealer may have the tool as many HD's are belt drive.

Just say'in.
