Ive worked out my riding position, but my right hand just buzzes and goes numb after semi long rides (30 mins or longer straight) I was thinking some bar ends to fix this? anyone know of a good place to go to purchase some? Also was wanting to replace the seat with gel to add some comfort, I dont want the touring seat because I want to keep the current seat height on the bike due to my short stature I have the bike set up perfect for myself due to my custom shock work. Any ideas on that? Wouldnt mind bringing the bars back and up a tid bit, but that sounds like that could get expensive. Thanks guys.

Maybe Gel grips? Anyone know a good place to buy those?

I had the same problem the tiny broom handle grips were replaced with fat ones like my s1 has. Much better but I have to keep reminding myself to keep my elbows bent. On straight i have to remember to relax my grip to the point the bars are rattling in my hand. I feel the relaxed grip method keeps the blood circulation moving. Not having the 'death grip' of constricted muscles helps a lot.

I just installed those Pro Grip #714 a few weeks ago since I was having a problem with my hands going numb and so far I have really liked the improvement. I run bar end mirrors that install inside my handle bar so using weighted bar ends isn't a current option. These grips helped me out and might do the same for you. Just my .02 cents.

I don't grip the bars, I let them rest in the bridge between my thumb and forefinger.

And of course use your ab muscles.

+1, that is the #1 cause of numbness. Chillax, lean back, and let the wind help keep you upright a bit and you will be Iron Butt comfortable : )

i used bar tape for road bicycles, makes grip bigger diameter and helps reduce vibration. make sure to attach securely!!!

Use your "core" (stomach, back, etc) and leg/thigh muscles more.

someone on here recommended some bird shot in a ziplock baggie rolled up and inserted in the bar with some generic bar ends to hold it in place... really kills the vibration and it's super cheap and easy to do

Those Pro Grips looks just like the ones Al sells over at American Sport Bike.

and they are cheaper from Al

and if you want the bars up and back, American Sport Bike has those too. A little more spendy, but would do exactly what you want.

The less weight on your hands, the better. I find that if I keep my grip very light, keep my elbows close to my body and keep the balls of my feet on the pegs, my hands bear almost no weight.

Of course, then your quads may ache...
