I went to watch some riders run around Eagle Canyon Raceway in Decatur, Texas today. I think the Buells outnumbered all other makes. Here are a couple of pictures and videos. If you click on the bottom two, they should show video.

Hey, I'm in that first picture! (I'm the one in the middle, leathers and sunglasses on top of my head). Glad you guys could make it out there. I hope Kevyn's brake issue was figured out. I had a great time. Thanks for posting these up.

It *was* a fun day. What a surprise when Keith showed up, eh?

There were something like 7 Buells there, with 5 on track. I'd never seen so many Buells on the track at once.

We should do this more often. Put together a Buell track day or two.

Kevin saved my day having that extra belt on-hand!

Jim, I'd bet the Buell group we ride with would show up for a track day.

Pick a date. If it's just a few of us, we can ride on a member day. If we can get closer to 25 or 30, I can get the track to open up to just us on a weekday.

Cool!I rode on that track right after it opened on my Duc.It was run by Texas Track Days and was very well done. They had a lot of rain and so had to clean a few places up on the track but it was new and the grass hadn't grown yet to keep the dirt from washing on the track.I liked the off camber turn at the end of the back straight with some elevation changes.Great, safe little track.

A heavy rain will still hose the track for a few days. There's geologic/hydrology issues with the layout... those fantastic elevation changes don't come without a penalty in Texas.

Overall, though, it's a fantastic facility, and pretty incredible it's a "country club" format track. In the grand scheme of things, it's amazingly affordable.

Jim, what would it cost for a track day for the Buell group?

If I am not working I would make it to a track day there for Buells. My cost was about $200.00 for everything.Food, fuel, track fees etc.

We can do it on a member day for $150+tax/person for the track fee. Basically, everyone just rides as a paid guest on my membership. Format would be the same as you saw this last week: 6 or 7 30-minute sessions. If we have around 10 or so bikes, this works best.

If we can get to about 25 riders and agree to do it on a weekday, the price is the same, but I can reserve the track just for us. So, basically it's an open track from 9-5 and you just come and go as you please, getting as much track time as you want. I've done that in the past a couple of times, but it's a bit of a pain in the ass to administrate, so someone else would have to take the reins.

If you are really serious about the latter option, I can also arrange for some instruction by local racers so we can safely have new track riders there as well.

Jim, I have posted a link to this thread on the MC Hooligans facebook page. That's the Mid Cities Buell group. We'll see if they want to do it or not.

It's really your deal at this point. My track day planning days are over. It's hard work, and it interrupts track time.

When you know which format you want, let me know and I'll make the track available to you.

Meanwhile, I'll be at the track riding... I got a serious schooling on Sunday and I've work to do...

Well, there there has been zero interest in a track day from the MC Hooligans. I think many do not have the disposable income required.
