I had no idea their were so many Buell's running in Pro Stock. Half of the entries, and three of the four semifinal bikes were Buells. Had it not been for a mechanical/human error in the final race, it would have been one heck of a finish.

Angie Smith, Buell, 6.992, 186.61; Michael Phillips, Suzuki, 7.157, 186.54 def. Chip Ellis, Buell, 17.913, 85.98; Eddie Krawiec, Harley-Davidson, 6.919, 193.90 def. Mike Berry, Buell, 7.055, 187.63; Jim Underdahl, Suzuki, 7.136, 175.23 def. Karen Stoffer, Suzuki, broke; Matt Smith, Buell, 6.959, 189.73 def. Shawn Gann, Buell, 7.099, 186.64; Steve Johnson, Suzuki, 7.223, 176.81 def. Jerry Savoie, Suzuki, foul; GT Tonglet, Suzuki, 7.023, 188.02 def. Hector Arana Jr, Buell, 15.041, 49.14;

Not really an 1125 related posting...anyway.

Also, let me see if I can count the similarities these bikes have to an actual Buell......I'm coming up with 0.

A Buell won that championship a couple years ago.

Some info is out there.
They are powered by an S&S 60 degree, billet air cooled motor.

Well, the similarities of the H-D's with any H-D are less than the Buells. So your point, buellX1? I think it's cool as hell that the name is still out there beating H-D at times. Look for them to put political pressure on NHRA to end that soon!

They fit the NHRA rulebook definition....Simlarities to an actual Buell?? Two wheels, two tires, two cylinders, run on straight gasoline...and say "BUELL" on the bodywork..

Just as close as the "Suzuki's" are to being "Suzuki" and closer to being Buells than the "V-Rods" that Hines runs are to actual V-Rods...

Go to a race and ask a crewchief what the transmission is designed from/for. ; )

Fast - I was under the impression the Suz guys are running a GS crankcase, whereas the others (HD/Buell) are not using any of the same parts.
Like stated, there is no Buell stuff on the bike other than the name on the side.

I raced one in Europe, These bikes are the fastest moving objects in the world from standing still till the 60ft you can sit on.. amzingly fast. Even faster then a top-fueler from 0-60ft because they have better power-weight ratio and more traction. I also raced in Gainsville and got teached by one of the georges from G2 Motorcycles.

In Europe the tracks are not even close the quality that you guys have.. I wish i would live in the USA.

The Suzuki's run a billet crankcase, billet cylinder, billet head, the transmissions and clutches are completely aftermarket. It's been a while since I hung out in the PS pits, but I'm pretty sure the cranks are aftermarket too now days.

Easyrider...There are some amazing bikes from Europe...The world's quickest single cylinder dragbike is from Holland I believe...400cc supercharged...I saw it run 7.97 at Gainesville some years ago...another guy had a supercharged Triumph that ran with the funny bike guys..and the wildest Harley I ever heard run was a supercharged monster ridden by a German guy...was his name Norbert something??

Fast - Ok, didnt know.
But if you TRULY want to see some Buell run, REAL BUELLS, come to an AHDRA (all harley drag) event. They just had the Norwalk event about three weeks ago.
Lots of Buells, mine should be back together for Bristol

Yea, but it's a total flip-side on the road racing courses.

With a couple of exceptions, ours are incredibly bumpy and unpredictable by comparison to the European tracks. I think a lot of Euro road racers would scare themselves silly on the stuff we race on at the club level.
