Mine is pretty minor, is this engine oil leak?

You must be new around these parts : )

Pretty common issue, isn't hard to fix. Get part number X2086.1AM from your dealer, it is a new clutch piston and seals. You can swap it out yourself without much fuss if you are mechanically inclined.

It is brake fluid that is leaking, not engine oil, so clean it up ASAP to prevent it from ruining the finish on the motor.

Stupid question I know, but could someone explain (in layman terms) what the problem is? I fixed my clutch weep, but I didn't know what parts I was changing out...

how embarrassing...

How important is this to fix in terms of can I let it go a little while, or should I rush in to the dealer?

Some guys had "gushers" that had to be fixed fast.
I have a VERY early 08 and she dribbled for two years before I got it fixed.
Only topped the fluid 2 or 3 times, so I had a very slow leak.

Had the X2086.1AM kit installed Feb 2010, still dry.

Can I ask a question about the weep? Seems my bike has it too now. I have a little tiny hole in the cover thats leaking. Will the X2086.1AM kit replace the holey cover as well? And what the heck caused the little hole in the first place? I did a search and it looks like a lot of people's leaks started with a tiny hole like mine.

The tiny little hole is a breather hole. It was "caused" in the manufacturing process, not by accident : )

Aaah. So its not the hole that's the issue, its leaking from inside, from the seals or something and coming out the hole. Right?

If you didn't have that tiny little hole, the clutch puck would pop off if you were strong enough to actuate the clutch.

Have your buddy work the clutch lever a few times while you have your ear close to it in a quiet garage...

don't forget the other vent hole on the rear facing edge of the cover(not the cap) that serves the same purpose.

RevA covers had a weep hole in the cover below the small plastic puck.
RevB has the hole in the larger, aluminum billet puck.

The notch on the side is for tool-access to pop the cap.

X2086.1AM replaces the outer piston/cyl/lining in the clutch cover and fixes the leak.

I had a minor leak - during my 6k service they did the repair (09 w/ revB cover).

Only a few hundred miles now but so far so good.

Odd. I have the Rev B on my 09 and the hole is below the puck.

Whippet - you have a hole in the casing below (grey) the puck (black)?

Don't think that's possible... the puck is the whole dealio now vs just sitting on top of the case like revA.

you can see the hole in the second pic above - just below the decal.

a bit more close up - can't see the hole since it's at the bottom:
