My bike was wrecked and the fork sliders were bent. I ordered new ones and plan on transferring the cartridge over to the new slider. Do i still need to compress the spring to get to the jam nut or can i back the bolt out on the bottom and take the damper assembly completely out?

Just take the bolts out of the bottoms like you say, then everything will come out of the top. Can I get the bent sliders from you after you're done with the repairs? I need the aluminum axel clamps off the ends if they're not broken... Please, please, pleeeese.....
