Hey guys. I am looking to buy a front stand for my R. Which ones will work with it and which, if any, do you use and/or recommend? Thanks in advance.

I second the Pit Bull stands, had another no name stand for the rear and the buell fell off the stand when I was working on it and it scratched up my blue swing arm.

The swing arm is agressive and other stands just don't cut it.

Worst feeling is come out from getting a drink inside and seeing your bike laying on its side.

Hey Jeep, does the $165 price tag include both the front and rear stand? That's what it seems like from what I read

I have the Pit Bull stands too. They're pricey, but awesome. I've also heard very good things about the t-rex stands.

I also have the PitBull and it works great. Swap out the pin ($10 or so) and it's compatible with pretty much anything.

I have Pitbull stands for front and rear. The rear stand for the 2008 1125R has insulated pads so it doesn't scratch the swingarm.

I use F and R pitbulls, from American Sport Bike. 3 pins. Work great on tubers, XB, and 1125 (all of which live in my garage) : ) Easy adjust bike-to-bike, easy use, stable as hell. Like, inspiring enough for me to pull wheels and drive into town to get tires without a second thought.

Just another option to put out there: I have a Vortex stand for my front and I love it. I already had a PitBull for my rear stand and I went looking for another one for the front. The dealer I went to only carried Vortex. It looked the same quality and was the same price as PitBull so I went with it. I can say with confidence that either Pit Bull or Vortex will make you happy.

For the front stand, spring for the Pit Bull. They are sturdy, flexible among several bike types with a simple pin change, and the construction of them is top, top notch.

I have a buddy that had T-Rex for his CBR1000, and the main thing you notice about them is they are much lighter weight material, and the pivot points are simple bolts-through-the-tube instead of solid bits like the Pit Bull. They also do not have the easy leverage of the pit bull stands, and I think are more difficult to use, though otherwise absolutely serviceable.

If you do a lot of tires, service work, etc., I think it's worth it to go for the good stuff. If you are only changing one set of tires a year, well yea, the cheaper stands might make more sense.

Used Pit Bulls almost always bring $100, so you can get most of your money back out of them, even years later.

just got the new front stand from Pit Bull - AWESOME! $$ but worth it.

Can get a couple diff pins for bunches of other bikes. Super quality and rock solid in the air. Mine looks just like spank's, except i got it with the removable handle. Nice little option.

If you get pit bull - check their site and compare *shipping* cost for total cost. Almost got from a great Buell site, but they wanted 50$ S/H! bought it direct from Pit Bull and 17$ shipped (paid for removable handle) - and showed up in 2 days.

bonus.

GL!

When I bought Pitbulls for my track bike I got the Universal front stand first. Then I got the Fork Lift add on second. This is a great setup for a track bike because I can use the Uni for normal pit stops and when I want to change a front tire clip on the Fork Lift and bang it's there.

For the rear, last summer when I was at Erik Buell Racing I saw these small ripple attachments on the bottom of their chain drive swingarms. I asked about it and got the number to order. On my old 1125 Pitbulls I took the 3 pin mount off and replaced it with some solid rod. Now it raises the rear end in a positive way. No more slipping around on the pads. Really nice when changing tires or working on the shock or whatever.

And, I concur on the quality of Pitbull. I haven't seen anything yet that beats em.

Another vote for the T-Rex, currently out of stock but $120 for the pair can't be beat. I'm fully happy with them, and had good dealings with the firm.

Are you T-Rex guys using the rears on 2009 models with spools?

It's my understanding they don't work very well on 2008 spool-less models

I have the non-1125 Pitbull rear stand... I've poked a few times at getting it to work and haven't had luck. Is the 1125 stand significantly different?

No problems with the Pit bull front and rear stands I got from American Sport Bike, I use them on both my 1125s and my XB.

Syonyk - the 'non 1125' rear stand - spindle/spool type - isn't wide enough to handle the 1125 swingarm unless you get "creative". Also, if you have a 2008, there are no spools unless you add them. The cradle type, shown in Frog's post above works pretty darn well.

Got my Pitbulls from Americansportbike.com today.

Solid, quality units as advertised.

Need to practice a bit more with the rear, not quite as easy as videos I see with spools and such
