I managed to low side coming out of final turn at MMP today. Not sure what happened - I must have got on the gas a little early... Bottom line here is that the 1125 was relatively unscathed. If I'd had an extra foot peg I could have continued. A friend told me the HD livery was bad mojo - I have determined that this is decidedly true. No crashes on this bike until I changed the paint scheme, then two in two successive track days. DON'T PAINT YOUR BIKE IN H-D LIVERY!! Props to the Taylormades - they work as advertised - between the case cover and rear spool, no damage to the bike besides some scuffage. Other than broken peg, lost the fairing stay and busted up every piece of bodywork, so now I have a better reason to come up with new colors - Ideas?

JD - I thought I had de-magnetized it by doing a little off-roading the session before. Danny - I'm fine..I'm too stupid to get hurt too bad. Thanks for asking...

Can't go wrong with a silver frame and black plastics/fairings. Sorry to hear about your ride... glad to hear you are ok.

I'm repainting mine after the big Feb crash.

It's NEON orange. Think giant traffic cone. The orange vs. the blue frame looks good, but over all it's absolutely hideous.

I'm thinking about calling it "The Chicane".

Great Ideas, keep em coming!

The post-mortem (and I should have known this, as MMP is my 'home' track)..

After the rains over the weekend, the power brooming and whatnot, the track was scrubbed clean, unlike last year, when the SBK guys had laid down some nice rubber over the previous days.. On top of that, the way that particular turn ("Release") drains, you get some fine sand and silt running down onto the turn from the clubhouse grandstand area, much of which gets pushed to the outside where it lurks, waiting for some wind. It was windy this morning, so.... clean pavement with a fine layer of blow sand resulted in me winding up on me arse.... Me, I'm thinking "OK, got a lap or two in so the tires are warmed up now so let's start powering up..." (And even better, I had been working Turn 2 two days earlier and had observed how clean it was - sometimes I just don't grasp the obvious)

I still say it was bad MoCo mojo.

I've always been partial to that BMW Blue/Black metallic...
Very much considering doing up my fairings with it.
Somebody else had a 1125r done up with it, and it looked great (can't find the thread though - curses!)

I've always been partial to flat black or flat dark grey. Just my $.02

Black it shall be (that is when the parts come in and I'm home enough to do the work). Gloss or flat? Which is faster?

Me personally I would go with flat. Kinda goes with the stealth mode idea. But that's just my opinion.

Flat is way easier to repair and shows fewer paint flaws.

Rattle can the beotch.
