Yeah I think I would. I used to ride an old CB 350 across a rail road trestle that had about 6-8" gaps between the timbers. You got a nice view of the Des Plaines River under there.

That ridge run made me sick after about 1 minute. I kept thinking he was going to clip the side with his handle bars.

@Tpoppa

No. I would not attempt that. Nope.

In fact I had to pause the video after 7 seconds to collect my thoughts. Need less coffee in my system : D

That's insane...I mean the first few seconds. I'll get back to you on the rest.

Edit: At about 3:00 he has to negotiate a step up. That was pretty hairy.

At just around 4:00 another step up onto off camber cobbles. Yeah. I hear his companion asking "is this good?" Or so I interpret...as in...are your sure about this one buddy?

Yes to the first one and not a chance in Hell to the second..

It's made me re-assess some of the "hairy" stuff I've done on off-roaders over the years (including trying to jump the 8' security fence onto an air base and failing) or rolling backwards down a hill, forgetting that the reason I was going up it was to avoid the 12' drop at the bottom which I remebered just as the back wheel dropped down it....closely followed by the rest of the bike and me...

Comparitively, I'm a pussy off road!

I doubt it, but I would post a thread for it...

>>> Yeah no problem. Dont see what the big deal was.

I'm guessing you've probably never walked across a wet/slippery rope and wood suspension bridge with a massive roaring river below. The bridge sways and moves and sags and tilts side-to-side and can even flip over, especially with a large top-heavy motorcycle/rider. Basically, if the bike starts to tip to any significant degree, it's going in the drink. You have no way to stop it. Death by drowning or just losing your bike and being stranded in the jungle is a big deal to many folks.

The reason I would do the first crossing is I would not be thinking about all the things that could go wrong. It's a bridge. People cross it all day long. You can see the end. I've done plenty of stupid things...if I could see the end to the stupidity : D

The next trail...that looks like something no one in their right mind traverses by machine. It's some sort of old footpath and there's no guarantee that it continues, or if it stops that there is anyway to turn a bike around. There's no feeling that it's been tested by travel. A rock could slide out and down you go.

The first one, I'd do if I was on a cheap bike (like my $2000 dirt bike) and had a life jacket. I'm a good swimmer but a little extra insurance would be nice.

The second one, no way I would do it. The trail didn't look all that hard, it's just that the price to pay for a mistake might be the ultimate one. If I was single with no kids and half suicidal, I'd probably give it a shot. Also if there was a free brothel with awesomely hot and disease free women at the end.

The bridge... sure.. wouldn't be stopping though.

The trail... prob not. Walk it sure... bike no.
