I decided to do a little ergonomic improvement I have been mulling on for over a year. I don't just run bodywork through the saw casually...but at 6-4 my body will not tuck on the 1125 as it is, so I made the seating position a bit longer so I can now get elbows in front of knees.

And it was free.

I also revisited the open air box mod with a new hex mesh grill to replace the solid plastic trim piece.

Nice mod! I was checking mine, I'd just need to remove the whole cover and sit on the rear to get my elbows in front of my knees. : D

6-8 on a Buell? Bit snug isn't it : D

Cheapo turn signals from D2moto.com.

Supposedly fit an R6 but I imagine they would fit any bike.

And the ST screen. That was my first step towards trying to make the R work for me at full tuck.

It's bad enough getting old and fat. But slow? Can't let that happen.

Any mods needed to fit?

I used some CBR1000 blinkers for the same, but they are a bit dimmer than i'd like, so looking for a better alternative.

Here's mine mounted:

While Im not a tall guy (5'9"), this is an awesome thread. Cool seeing dudes figure stuff out to work for them.

I do like the airbox mod, has anyone ever dyno tested something like this?
Didnt the XBs (later years) have a similar setup?

Where did you find black mesh or did you paint the silver stuff?

Yep Powder Coated Cascade Black. I do a lot of PC modifications so I had some on hand.

Yes those are the indicators I ordered from d2moto.com. I suggest gluing them in place with black silicon adhesive. I stuck them down then masked them off leaving about an 1/8" gap for the silicon bead and they have held up great. I have no garage. The bike is out in the weather under a cover year round. Someone posted that they would blow off. Not hardly. I've tested them to 154 MPH : D

The Cycle Pirates 360 peg re locators were one of the steps toward knees behind elbows in full tuck. I set them up at 45 degrees back and down and was able to put my knees behind the scallop in the frame/tank for the first time. The OEM position jams my knees right into the optional side fairing edges. The ST screen was another. My bucket-head simply could not get below the standard screen, more than half my helmet would be in the air stream. The ST is tall enough I can get completely under it without breaking my neck. And the pillion mod was what finally gave me enough room to jockey around in the saddle. After reading Lee Parks' book on riding I have retrained myself to get further back in the saddle when I hang off. I used to hump the air box.

Before, I was hard up against the cover and still had poor leverage with my arms. Now I can straighten my wrists enough to lay my forearms against the frame/tank and do the business.
