Hi all...

I'm putting the Beltronics RX65 on my 1125R. I plan on mounting it somehow to the windshield like this one:

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/473276.html?1247922097

Perhaps using a mounting system like this:

http://www.legalspeeding.com/AWM.htm

I want to setup an alert system - but I'm not crazy about H.A.R.D. or the Radar Screamer. I have the SENA SMH10 system in my helmet (bluetooth), so I'm thinking that I could use something like this to transmit to the SENA headphones:

http://www.buy.com/prod/bluetooth-3-5mm-a2dp-stere o-audio-hifi-dongle-adapter-transmitter-for/q/sell erid/26076229/loc/111/213742315.html

I guess I'm looking for some additional brains to think about this and consider if it would work. : )

Thanks!

Chatterbox XBi or XBi2 wireless Bluetooth communication system. It can stream your detector's audible alerts if you hook up the Chatterbox Bluetooth Dongle to the detector.

Been using this system for several years and it rocks! No wires. Very convenient.

I use RAM mount to mount the detector to my front brake lever mount. Very clean. Very secure and strong. Infinitely adjustable.

Those windshield mounts are not so secure. and put undue pressure on that thin windshield.

Thanks for the insight, Rogue.

I'm hoping I can do the same thing with the SENA - been really happy with the SENA for intercom, music, phone... just hoping it works with my radar detector too.

Based on your advice, I think I'll get the RAM mount then. Their website confuses me. Would I get this one:

That's what came up for the mount when I put in the 2009 1125R. Thoughts?

Hey Rogue - do you have a picture of your installation that you'd be willing to share?

You use this: http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetail s/tabid/63/partid/08206507704506604505104805704504 9085/Default.aspx
You can't use the handlebar mount with the U-adapter because you have the 1125R. You need a lot of handlebar space for that. You want the base mount that screws on to your front brake master cylinder mounting bolts.

Then I recommend you add the short stalk (4") because the longer one (6"+) acts as a lever to transmit more road shocks. The short one works better on a sportbike.

Then you add the platform mount with magnetic plate.

This is the cleanest mount I have ever used on several bikes. It works on metric or SEA bikes. The difference between metric and SAE is the mounting screws to the front brake master cylinder differs but I'm sure the RAM base mount comes with both types of screws.

I will post a pic up tonight.

Not true, I have the U bolt holding on my RAM mount for my Zumo. Tight fit, but it does work, 10k miles later it hasn't budged.

I apologize for the grainy photo. I had to blow up an existing photo that shows the RAM mount.

You can partially see the base mount. I'm using the 6" arm, which I don't really like and prefer the shorter 4" arm. The radar detector and the Bluetooth Dongle is seen sitting on top of the detector. The Radar detector earplug is used to connect the BT Dongle, which transmits the Radar Audio alerts to the Chatterbox Bluetooth XBi communicator.

Not to big with blue tooth - seems "priorities" are lacking if you have more than one device - but did make a mount to utilize the existing "hardware"

rammount

add a small rame base ( RAM-B-347U) and a short arm (RAM-B-201U-A) and you get this:
rammount2

with some wiring connected to the heated grip socket and some velcro...I can mount this:
radar

..also have a wiring harness on my drawing board that would utilize automotive cigarette lighter "sockets" - working on a second mount for my GPS for the "throttle side" of the fairing- just hope the electrical system will hold up!
