but as I floored the r it lacked topend.
Don't confuse the Rs constant powerband (or the lack thereof on the ZX-6R) as lacking on the topend. |

Agreed! If you feel that the R lacks top end power, maybe you should try a few upgrades. I put a KEDA RT2 exhaust, TM stacks, Erik Buell Racing race ecm and K&N filter on my R and she is very fast everywhere. Though, the Z is a nice ride in its own right. |

I have the race ecm and a kn on my bike.
I just felt the zx6r pulled harder at 80 -125 range. After 3rd gear the buell got flat whereas the z kept screaming. It was just weird. |

Well, the Ninja is a pretty sweat bike. Now you've got me thinking about the top end. Well, now way to tell unless I take my R for a ride. lol I did notice a difference in the top end when my buddy and I swapped rides for a few hour but he has a GSXR 1000. Now that bike has some nutz when it comes to the top end. Yikes! |

The new zx6r has plenty of topend. Everytime I hit a gear the front end jumped up a foot. Idk I have alot of thinking to do. There's so many good bikes to choose from. I encourage anyone that has the opportunity to swap with a 09 Or newer 600. I am completely confused about power delivery. |

Couldn't find RWHP figures on the 2011 ZX-6R, but the '09/'10 model was dyno tested by one source at 107.7HP and 42.9 torque. 1/4 mile time cited at 10.97.
Obviously these figures can vary a bit but are sure to be in the ballpark for any 600cc Supersport.
I am sure you are familiar with the R's stats, so the numbers says the R has the power advantage over a 600cc Supersport-everywhere in the power curve. |

I've got an '06 Daytona 675. It's a sweet handling bike, super sexy, and sounds fantastic. The powerband is broad for a middleweight but it still has a good top-end pull. At sub 100mph speeds, the 1125 will pull on it pretty easily but at 130+, the 1125 doesn't open up quite as much of a gap on the 675. I suspect that's at least in part due to the 675's narrow front end that probably has less drag.
The 675 is definitely more flickable and nimble than the 1125. Its brakes are better and I dare say that it handles better as well. The 1125 is of course faster. I think that the handling tradeoff is due to the 675 being about 40 lbs lighter and having a smaller motor with less flywheel effect to resist turning.
If you have the means, I strongly recommend adding one to your stable. Be sure to get full coverage insurance, though, as the dealer is pretty much the only place to get parts and you'll probably pay full retail or close to it, unlike Jap bikes where you can find discount parts without looking too hard. |

My first bike was an 08 Uly, on which I commute 50 mi/day year-round, most of that on NJ interstates. When I decided to get a backup bike (no car), I test-rode an 09 1125CR, loved it, and was just getting my finances in order when the Buell shutdown was announced. I considered a Daytona 675 but then decided on the 1050 cc Speed Triple instead. I had gotten used to the torque on the Uly and thought a liter bike with shorter gearing would be better for my commutes, at the cost of a few dollars and pounds over the Daytona. I put clipons and rearsets on the S3 for more sporty ergos, fixed the exhaust, and it meets my needs well. I still check here every now and then, imagining what life would have been like on the CR in a more perfect world. |

Bikebandit prices are really close to retail, though. When my brother crashed my 675, I ordered parts from Bikebandit because the closest Triumph dealer is an hour and a half away. Admittedly, I didn't price shop the Triumph dealer, and maybe I should have. |

Oooooooooo, CBR 1000RR is a great bike! Good choice. There is power-o-plenty and it handles very well for a big banger! |

I had an '06 Daytona up until last fall when I sold it and my XB to begin looking for an S1. The S1 quest continues but I missed that Triumph 3cyl howl so much that I bought a Street Triple to hold me over. Both the Daytona and the Street Triple are super-flickable but the Daytona was a chore around town and killed my wrists and lower back until I put a set of Helibars on it. As for the Streety, I'm running XB handlebars on it at the moment and the best way I can sum it up is to say that it feels like all the best parts of a dirtbike AND it has over 100HP.
I've ridden the Speed Triple and while I loved the torque, it was too heavy and sluggish handling as compared to the XB, Daytona, and the Street Triple. |

I almost bought a triumph till I found the buell. I might still try and get one in a year or two. On a side note a salesman from the Harley dealership asked if I was interested in selling the 1125r because he had three people on a list waiting to buy one. |

I agree that the Triumph is a great bike, my brother has a 955i Daytona. I nearly bought a new speed triple before buying the 1125R. Given that the Triumph factory goes from strength to strength maybe I made the wrong choice as getting Buell parts in the UK now takes time and is costly. The import duty we have to pay on goodies from the likes of Erik Buell Racing is ridiculous. |

Well today I rode a gsxr 750 2006 . It had 6200 miles on it registered. The bike had gobs of power and handled awesome. Its as good as bought. It was so clean I couldn't pass it up. Thanks for everyones advice. Ill post some pictures up.soon. now I have a twin and a inline. |
