Hey guys, just bought a "universal" rear stand so I can do my first 1125R tire change. But the "U" shaped pieces that are meant to lift and support the spools are too tall, especially on the left side of the bike and in this configuration will definitely scratch or gouge my swing arm. The right side will just clear I believe, but no way on left side. What are the best spools to get for raising the bike and do you only install them when you need to lift, and remove them otherwise (as I presume they will stick out a little further)?

With this in mind, what stand did Buell have in mind for use with the stock spools? Thanks for any info / suggestions!

I cut the extra off my stand to make them work correctly with my spools.

Do these spools fit with the '08 R? I have a vague recollection of someone once writing that the spools only fit later models.

The '08's don't have spools mounting points.

Had the same problem, did the same as "Xtreme" cut the extra off the stand U mounts.. That was after slightly scratching the right arm just in front of the spool..

Pitbull has a stand for the 1125. It's wider than the standard one.

'08 spool mounting points are accessed from inside swingarm.

I don't see the Pitbull stand for spools listed on American Sport Bike. I bought mine directly from Pitbull.

They have the one for the 08 with no spools: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/16131.html

I have the Pitbull stand for '08 1125R, which I bought from AS.

It's my third Pitbull stand and these things are solid. Very strong and stable.

Side question.... anyone know the paint/ part code for the CR swing arm? Lets just say I had some 'issues' with my stand before the new spindles. : (

Thanks guys for the feedback....I appreciate it. I still wonder what Buell had in mind. Did or does Buell offer a stand? I don't have a width problem, just a problem with the "U" clearance. I think cutting them down like a couple guys mentioned above is the approach I'll take. I'll also check out other spools as suggested....thanks!

Fireboltxb9r,

I don't have a problem with the "U" touching the swingarm using my Pitbull.

To put spools on a '08, is it as simple as drill and tap? or is there a threaded insert in the '09?
