I was riding today and my check engine light came on and my speedometer stopped working. It just said zero. I was probably going around 50mph or so when this happened. I pulled over at a gas station and put the bike in dig mode and it had I error "speed system error". Any ideas? I rode a little more after this today and it comes on and goes off periodically. I was thinking about taking it to the harley shop to see if I could get them to fix it. I don't even know if it's still under warranty, as I am the second owner. Is this something I can fix?

Yeah, with mine the sensor just came unplugged. It was shortly after a big service, so I assume it just wasn't buttoned back up tightly enough.

Anyone know where the speed sensor is located.

look at this picture, the speed sensor is to the left of the orange strap, look where the orange strap comes out from under the frame, the speed sensor plugs into the engine and has that silver heat wrapping on the cable.
all you have to do is remove the plastic cover above the right peg (and above the dipstick) and you will see the speed sensor.

Thank you. I checked it out and it just needed to be pluged in more. All is well now
