Hey guys,

I was seriously thinking of wrapping my exhaust and was wondering if anyone had done this already and would be willing to post some pics to help me decide. My plan is to cut the mounts for the small leg guard but I want to make sure I'm going to like it before I do this. I have always like the look and I think the cr would look bad ass with black wrapped up exhaust.

I have done it twice on my 1125. Th standard fiber wrap is a major pain in my opinion. You need to wet it to keep the fiber dust down and get a tight wrap. Then th color fades very quickly unless you painn it with a special silicone paint. It becomes brittle and starts get tattered looking.
While its its not black I would seriously consider dei's titanium wrap. It looks awesome, no need to wet, and is supposed to last longer and retain its color. I just did my last week.

Yup freshly repacked, and good to go. Still considering painting it black as well as the heat shield.

Avalaugh, what all the 08 1125R's didnt look like this!
In all honesty this bike is just about perfect for me now. Sure there are a few other little things I still would like to accomplish. But with the high bars, uly seat, and hard bag capability and of course the 1125 power, I now have my ideal Buell!

Kozy, the stock headers took a full 50'x1" roll of wrap. The Barker collector and down tube took about another 25'. So you would need 2 full rolls to get it done. Dont forget the SS zip ties as well.

I also used the titanium wrap.
So far, held up VERY well, for just over 10,000 miles. Looks new.
Also have the Barker (no "s"!) exhaust, but haven't wrapped it yet.

Though I did wrap my exhaust with two layers, why you might ask...

Because of how close the rear tube is to the frame...and the gas.!
The front is close to not only the water pump and hoses, but also the right side radiator and hoses.

Got to get some more wrap to do the Barker collector (just one layer!!).

Mike

think i have about 7500 miles on the black glass wrap and have repainted it once. still looks good to me and helps a little with the heat and a lot with the looks(to me at least)
