Good afternoon everybody! I have an 1125R and an 1125CR. The CR is much smoother from low to high rpms. I don't think it has anything to do with the lower gearing. Now, I know the CR has different inyectors and the 02 sensors are positioned differently than on the 08 engine. My question is, if I replaced the fuel inyectors and the headers plus updated the ecm with an 09 tune, would it feel and fuel the same as an 09?

I have a 2008 1125r, 2009 1125r The 09 really isn't smoother than the 08. I've done the Ebr ecm on both bikes and that made a big difference, very smooth and great throttle response in the whole rpm range. I think the Cr gearing did make your bike feel smoother because its keeps your rpms higher rather then lower where the stock tune up is lean and runs choppy. I think you'd be wasting your money on injectors, and 09 pipe. This is just from my experience.

On mine it does feel smother on all rpms. I might be getting the Erik Buell Racing ecm in about a month so we'll see how it goes. Is just that every time I switch between the two, I can really tell how the 08 vibrates more even on higher RPMs. Both feel very strong, the 08 deceptively fast, you don't realize how fast you are going until you look down on the speedometer. The acceleration on the CR is just amazing and smooth. If I'm not careful the CR will stand on me without even trying.

I also have both an 08R and 09CR, both with Race ECMs (CR has KEDA pipe). They both feel pretty much the same, with the R slightly smoother when cruising around 2k, but it could be the differences with my exhausts.

Anyway, it is possible what you are feeling is differences in ECM programming, perhaps your 08's programming isn't the latest while the 09 is. There is no fueling difference between a R and CR.

Thanks Froggy. Ill switch to the race ECM as soon as I financially can.
