I would like to get my stator rewound on my 1125r before spring. Does anyone have the contact information? Does the search function work?

I sent my stator out yesterday overnight shipping to customrewind.co

Very friendly service backed by a one year warranty. He said that they back the charging off a little bit for the 09 bikes. Ill get it back friday and ill report my findings.

Here are some shots of a 09 1125r stator with 8,000 or more miles with harnessed installed from day one. The harness isn't looking so promising. Its just a tactic to get us through the warranty period then gouge our eyeballs out on replacement parts.

See the darker lines with cracks. I couldn't tell they were their till I took a closeup with my camera.

Fix with a relay my butt!!

My stator wasn't failing and I wasn't ready to find myself on the side of the road stuck. After the fh012aa regulator was installed I decided to take a look at the stator. I'll have 120.00 in the mosfet and 140.00 in a rewind with a 1 year warranty. Custom rewind also has a 2 day turnaround. AWESOME!!!!
Beats waiting three months for a stator through harley.LOL

very good curve_carver, your old stator looks exactly like mine when I first pulled it out. black and ugly lol. going with the mosfet regulator and the rewound stator will be much more promising and if you havent already done so, pull out that stupid relay harness and burn it to see if it burns a purple flame lol

I cut it up and used it for the wiring. Huh,What a joke!!
I can't believe they seriously thought going to single phase would fix heat problems.

Here are some important specs. The original wire used is 16.5 guage. He wound mine with 17 gauge to lower the output and diminish the heat. He also used a coating that cures at 450 degrees. He said this is just a test and well see if it works better. Im suppose to report back to him after a few months. I will pull the cover again mid summer. Im a guinea pig again. Lol

I wonder if American Sport Bike would be interested in picking this up (rewound stator and MOSFET VR) as a retrofit kit for 1125 owners?

What were the megger readings? Thanks. Was just wondering. I guess it is better to be proactive than reactive in this case.....that is rewinding it on your schedule vice a break down. Good on you.

The epoxy he uses came from his own rewinding and testing stators from other engines that run excesively hot stators.

My Custom Rewind stator is still in the box..

Will you be running it without the harness upgrade?

I will be running the stator and fh012aa regulator. No harness! Im suppose to receive it today. Now I just have to figure what to do with all the silicone in my cover. Idk I think its for keep the wires from vibrating. I don't think it blocks oil flow to cool the stator.

OLD

New

I left the old silicone in place and sprayed brake cleaner to clean the case out.I then laid the wires in the lightly added silicone just as they were before.

I also added a dab of grease to the needle bearing assembally for the dry startup. See the duct tape by the throttle body. I got lucky and the fishtape I made broke just as it exited the looming. That could of been ugly.

Time will tell. I did take it for a 20 mile ride tonight and the stator was charging at 14.2 -14.4 volts. It seems to be just fine.
Backing off the voltage didn't seem to hurt it. : )

Watch your fingers on the rotor. There is a super sharp lip that will cut your hand. IdK why it would be machined that sharp. I didnt cut myself but I almost did. AH.....Volts are good .

Do you know how many watts it's putting out?

He didn't give me any wattage rating. He did reduce the wire size from 16.5 to 17 guage. So it can't be that much.
